National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a completely free iris scanning facility at all its registration centers in the country. All they want is to ensure that all the citizens have one more security cover for their identity information without having to pay any extra costs. They are now requesting the citizens to avail themselves of this facility because it is an easy method to secure their personal biometric data.
How does NADRA's Iris Scan Function?
As compared to normal fingerprints and pictures, an iris scan is based on the unique patterns found in a citizen's eyes – and there are very rare chances that anyone would be able to duplicate such pattern and make a fake one. By incorporating such an identity check into its current process, NADRA is providing citizens a more reliable form of verification when they need to access some services offered by banks or during SIM registration.
